2nd Call for papers

The 17th International Congress of the Names Society of Southern Africa (NSA) will be held from 25-27 September 2012 at Mohale Lodge, high in the mountains of the Kingdom of Lesotho, 80 kilometers east of the capital Maseru. 

Papers are invited on any topic covering proper names, naming systems, etc.

Abstracts of not more than 300 words should be sent to: Prof NN Mathonsi

Closing date for abstracts is 11th May 2012

Registration and accommodation information


Early (Until 31st  May 2012): R1, 400.00 / Students: R700.00
Late (1st  June until 31st  August 2012): R1, 600.00Students: R800.00



1. Hotel rooms (including 3 meals per day)
Single: R699.00 per night
Double: R599.00 per person per night, sharing

NB:  The hotel has rooms with showers or bath-tubs only, please indicate your preference when making a booking.  However, please note that we will be guided by the availability of such rooms.

2. Three-bedroom units occupied by a maximum of 6 people (includes lunch only)
6 people in unit: R300.00 per person per night, sharing (pppn)
5 people: R330 pppn
4 people: R380 pppn
3 people: R470 pppn
2 people: R630 pppn
1 person: R1130 pn

NB: If members choose double rooms or units, they should indicate who they prefer to share with.

All members should pay for a minimum of two days’ accommodation fee when making a booking (this should be until the end of June).  The balance should be settled by the end of July. Members who fail to pay for their full accommodation bill by the end of July may pay the hotel’s operating rate from 1st August 2012.  This is because the hotel wishes to accommodate other guests, in the event that members do not attend the conference.
